Subject outline
The aim of this subject is to introduce students to the theory and practice of strategic human resource management. Topics to be covered include: SHRM policy and planning, diversity management, recruitment and selection, employment relations, performance management and reward, occupational health and safety and HRM measurement and evaluation. In this subject we examine contemporary HRM issues facing the practising manager through a case study and problem solving approach. On completion of this subject students should have a general understanding of the role of strategic human resource management in the success of any organization.
