Subject outline
This is a foundation subject and introduces students to the major concepts that enable managers to understand the behaviour of people in organisations. In this regard students will investigate the impact of individuals, groups and structure in determining organisational effectiveness. The field of organisational behaviour comes from a variety of disciplines; namely, psychology, sociology, social psychology, anthropology and political science. Topics covered include: Individual Behaviour, Groups and Teamwork, Organisational Culture, Managerial Problem Solving and Decision - making change,communication and motivation. Students will be introduced to and be expected to integrate the foundational concepts of systems thinking, critical thinking and learning theory.
