Subject outline
In this subject students are introduced to the ancient Greek language. The emphasis is upon learning to read the language with confidence and fluency. Texts deal with aspects of the historical and cultural world of the Greeks, who have exercised a major influence on European traditions. Ancient Greek will be of interest to those studying ancient religious traditions, philosophy, history, theology, art history, linguistics, literature and modern Greek.
