Subject outline
This subject extends to your understanding of the concepts underlying health information management. You are introduced to digital health and health informatics with a focus on both administrative and clinical information systems, including system specification issues and technical considerations for electronic health information systems. Case studies and enquiries are used to apply critical theories to applications. There is an introduction to protocol-based and clinical-decision support systems. Discussions, research and student presentations enable students to create a model for designing information systems to support the provision of quality care.
