Subject outline

The Photography and Video Elective provides students with relevant production skills and a conceptual and historical framework for the still and moving image within contemporary art practice. The course focuses on the extension of students' artistic vocabulary and understanding of contemporary image-based art in relation to their own area of research. Students will experiment with a range of techniques, equipment, presentational modes and conceptual approaches to the image through class exercises and independent research in response to assignment tasks.
