Subject outline
In this subject students will complete the Australian Physiotherapy Association Level 3 Sports Physiotherapy course. This 50-hour course incorporates theoretical and practical elements of diagnosis and management of sport injuries. The Department of Physiotherapy has no involvement in selection of applicants into the APA course and it is the student's responsibility to ensure they meet the eligibility criteria, and to apply and be accepted into the course.

Prerequisites Must pass (PTY5SEE & PTY5ACS & PTY5PDS) or (PTY5LSE and PTY5PSM and PTY5PDS) and must be enrolled in one of the following courses: HMSPH - Master of Sports Physiotherapy or HZSPMP - Master of Sports Physiotherapy/Master of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy or HZSPMY - Master of Sports Physiotherapy/Master of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.

02. Students will be able to demonstrate advanced handling skills in assessing and treating injured athletes.

03. Students will be able to devise a comprehensive management plan for return to competition for an injured elite athlete.
