Subject outline
This subject focuses on leadership development for nurses across both clinical and management positions. The subject recognises that healthcare organisations can be dynamic and challenging environments regardless of setting or level of responsibility. Major theoretical frameworks of leadership and management are introduced with consideration of different types of organisations and organisational structures. Students are encouraged to assess their own leadership strengths and development needs. Assessments are used to help students develop their own individual leadership development frameworks.
