Subject outline

Building on their theoretical and practical understanding of screen production practices, students work individually and collaboratively to produce a short form series. Students learn to engage with an on-line environment to analyse and ultimately contribute to the web (and/or other platforms) as screen content providers. Students will devise and produce audio-visual material for possible continuous short form production. The aim of this subject is to produce creative, industry ready screen content producers, who have practical experience dealing with ethical issues, copyright, identifying & writing for target audiences and working to client expectations and briefs. This subject may include fiction, non-fiction, drama, writing for the screen, performance. Activities:
The series that they participate in creating has the potential to be streamed on a web platform outside of the university context. Students are required to research, produce and discuss the themes expressed within the charter aligned to this web channel.

05. Analyse and understand the ethical, social and cultural implications associated with a range of screen media processes and practices;

Activities:
Through close analysis of the production process and and in class critique at the summation of the screen work produced. All work produced must adhere to diversity and equality considerations upheld by La Trobe University and the network the series is broadcast with.
