This subject provides a highly practical review of key issues relating to company secretarial practice, the rules of company meetings, and their application with particular reference to ASX Listing Rules and governance principles. It also builds upon the subject MGT5ACL: Applied Corporate Law. This subject is offered in partnership with the Governance Institute of Australia.

Prerequisites: Students must be enrolled in LMCGR - Master of Management (Corporate Governance and Risk), or by permission of subject coordinator.

Special conditions: This subject is managed and delivered by the Governance Institute of Australia. Classes normally begin 1-2 weeks after standard La Trobe semester and meet for 2.0 hours weekly for 12 weeks, depending on Governance Institute timetable. Classes may be offered in intensive block mode on weekends, depending on the Governance Institute timetable. Students may be able to take the subject online, with permission from the subject coordinator. Students are recommended to contact the subject coordinator prior to enrolling. Students are recommended to take Corporate Accountability - MGT5CAC, and Applied Corporate Law - MGT5ACL prior to enrolling in this subject. International student enrolment is limited to international students enrolled in one of the following courses: LMCGR, LMMGT, LMMEI, LMMHR, LMPM, LMMSM, LMIBUS, LZFAPA.
