Subject outline
Students in this subject will be given a broad introduction to areas of law relevant to the banking and finance industry. They will also be introduced to Australian legal institutions and methods. Topics covered include contract law, the legal relationship of financial institutions and customer, payment systems, and lending and securities. This subject is suitable for second year undergraduates with no prior knowledge of law and for undergraduates who have previously completed a business law subject and who wish to explore further the operation of law within the context of banking and finance.
