Subject outline
There is great diversity across the world's languages in the way words and sentences are constructed. In this subject, the underlying structures and processes that create this variety are described and analysed. We use theoretical approaches from syntax and morphology to explore this, taking examples from across the globe and reflecting on the importance of sustainability in maintaining linguistic diversity.
