Subject outline
This subject explores the conceptualisation of some of the most heinous atrocities such as genocide,crimes against humanity, war crimes and aggression as international crimes. It considers their historical development and the way the crimes have been adjudicated at various international criminal courts and tribunals. Attention is paid to the consequences of the application of the substance and procedure of international criminal law, while also analysing the role of and effect on participants, reconciliation and post-war transition.
