Subject outline

This subject introduces students to the principles and skills for researching, writing and producing compelling stories for different types of media and publishing platforms, including text, video, audio, still images, blogs and mobile journalism. Students will develop the skills necessary to critically evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of different publishing platforms and select the right platform for the right story. At the completion of this subject, students will have used a minimum of three different media to tell a layered single story.

03. Undertake research for the purpose of news story creation through the use of archival and background material; and the organising, conducting, and recording of interviews with appropriate sources
