ELECTRONIC DESIGN EXERCISE
Credit points: 30
In the first part of the subject, students will learn advanced techniques in LabView programming which include programming concepts and functions to perform tests and measurements, data acquisition, instrument control, real-time data analysis, and report generation. In the second part, each student will undertake a LabView based design project in signal processing and control. In a typical design project, a student will use several sensors such as an infrared range finder for detecting a moving object and/or a sensor for measuring the temperature. The student is required to construct the circuit and to interface the circuit with LabView. The student will then write LabView programs for the measurement and control of the circuit to provide certain functionalities such as boom gate control or temperature control.
