This subject will address the major areas of physical, cognitive and socio-emotional development in particular issues pertaining to puberty, development of intelligence, and identity in the context of school education. Contemporary socio-cultural factors that influence child and adolescent development as well as the needs and importance of effectively engaging with parents/carers are considered.
