Subject outline
Good curriculum design in higher education is a critical factor in student satisfaction, success and retention. In this subject, participants have the opportunity to explore the practical applications of contemporary higher education curriculum design, models and learning theories, and reflect on their own educational beliefs and values. Participants take a scholarly approach to a higher education curriculum design/re-design project that involves engaging with the University's Professional Learning Framework. Participants gain practical expertise in assessment task (re)design informed by contemporary literature on good practice assessment design to promote learner engagement and success. Participants demonstrate leadership skills for curriculum renewal by formulating an evaluation plan to drive a cycle of quality enhancement in assessment practice informed by student feedback and learning analytics.
