Subject outline
This subject introduces participants to foundational ideas, current trends, debates and discussions in higher education curriculum, teaching and learning with a particular focus on student learning and engagement. Normally, this subject is taken first in the Graduate Certificate of Higher Education. Participants will investigate how technology-enabled teaching can promote active learning through increased opportunities for a variety of forms of learner interactions. They will explore how current trends in higher education affect an institution's teaching and learning strategic plans. Participants will have opportunities to consider their own teaching, assessment/feedback and curriculum practices from a range of perspectives, and will be encouraged to develop teaching strategies and techniques that are informed by research and scholarship.
