Subject outline
In this subject learners will explore and develop critical understanding of the historical emergence and diversity of learning theories associated with applied learning internationally and locally including claims made for programs framed by these theories and their significance to 21st Century Learning environments. Students will apply theoretical knowledge to: consider their own understandings of learning and teaching; analyse learning scenarios; and to design an applied learning program suitable for use in schools.

- Activities:
- Readings, lectures, student presentations (including a group feedback activity) and class discussions will give students the necessary insight to demonstrate what they have learned by way of designing a learning program. Students will be required to investigate current VCAA data

02. Justify and appraise an applied learning episode illustrating the connections between theory and practice and how the learning constructs promote innovation and entrepreneurship
- Activities:
- Class discussions, prescribed readings and topics from lectures will be focused on enabling students to form connections through mediums such as innovation which will be assessed.

03. Analyse a sequence of lessons or curriculum documentation based on applied learning principles
- Activities:
- Analysing course materials to enable students to write a 1000 word report. This activity includes class discussion on duty of care and consideration of ethical implications in assessment task 3
