Subject outline
This subject is designed for learners who have already undertaken some pre-university English language study (e.g.: English for Academic Purposes) but who wish to develop higher proficiency to enable success with further study. Focus is on the appropriate use of language in an academic settings and on strategies for using language to navigate inter cultural difference at university. Through interactive learning tasks and assessments students develop abilities inlistening to, reading and writing a range of English language texts while improving critical literacy and digital capacity. Focus is on transferable skills including researching,note taking and academic writing.
