Subject outline
In this subject students learn that an understanding of growth and development in humans, specifically craniofacial growth, are fundamental to developing diagnostic ability and treatment planning skills in dentistry. Students are introduced to physical development from birth until adulthood and how this influences growth and development in the orofacial region. Students learn the common dentofacial abnormalities and classification of malocclusions, the development of normal occlusion, and the common interceptive treatments.

01. Apply knowledge of growth and development of the head and neck region, including common developmental problems and the relationships of overall growth of the human body, to growth assessment in the clinical setting.
