In this subject students further develop skills in oral communication and are introduced to the more complex grammatical structures of the spoken language. By the end of the semester, students will be able to use the most common sentence patterns of colloquial Chinese and will have acquired an additional 250 characters. Students extend their communicative repertoire to include everyday life in an overseas Chinese context, including shopping at Chinese markets, renting, Chinese pastimes and using public transport in China.
