Subject outline

Studio Practice E encourages students to explore and refine their practice and the related conceptual interests that frame their work in order to develop individual projects and an advanced folio. The course leads students to establish a sound transdisciplinary studio inquiry across media of the student's choosing. Students engage with conceptual approaches and develop a commensurate level of engagement with the language of relevant contemporary art practice and critical theory. The subject emphasises independent problem solving and self-directed inquiry around the student's own interests and the contextualisation of their practice within the broader framework of contemporary art. This subject emphases a studio led inquiry that is complemented by a range of seminars, class discussions, visiting artists, gallery visits and class critiques.
