Subject outline

This subject provides a beginning understanding of school welfare practice. Students are introduced to key individual troubles and social problems which confront today's schools as well as the current policy and program responses to those issues. Key knowledge values and practice theories required for school social welfare practice are identified and examined. Students begin to reflect on their own capacity to take on a welfare role in schools.
