Subject outline

In this subject, students develop an understanding of the theoretical concepts and principles that underpin the field of sports analytics and performance analysis. Using small and pre-existing sports-related data sets, students will develop basic data handling and analytical skills. Students will explore a variety of techniques available to the sports analyst to analyse athlete performance. Students will also develop an appreciation of the limitations of performance and sports analytics techniques.
