Subject outline
In this subject students will extend concepts related to the anatomy and physiology of the eye presented in the Ocular Physiology and Vision Science subject to develop understanding of a range of ocular conditions. Students will be able to identify and understand infection, inflammation, developmental, congenital, genetic, degenerative, neoplastic, toxic, traumatic and vascular disorders of the eye and the progression of these ocular conditions in terms of the changes in the normal anatomy and/or physiology of the eye. Students will be introduced to some investigative techniques to identify a patient's visual problem and make a diagnosis. This subject will equip students to progress to the ophthalmic investigation, diagnosis and management subjects.
