Subject outline

This subject provides the opportunity to examine a variety of paediatric occupational therapy interventions. Both generic and specific interventions related to cognitive (e.g. cognitive orientation to occupational performance), physical (e.g. botulinim toxin or constraint induced movement therapy) and social-emotional interventions (e.g. cognitive behavioural therapy) for paediatric occupational therapy practice will be covered. Students will learn how to make evidence-based decisions in order to apply interventions to specific clinical groups. Students will learn to review and synthesise the evidence in an area of their clinical interest and explore future directions for research.
