This subject addresses La Trobe's Global Citizenship Essential. Global Citizenship is about learning to live in an interconnected world, including the social, environmental, political and economic challenges this brings.

Subject outline

In this subject, students explore the history, role, key debates and considerations of the Humanities and social sciences including; global citizenship education, cultural studies, history, geography, business and economics in primary school programs. They develop and demonstrate the ability to plan, implement and evaluate Humanities programs for primary education, with a focus on The Victorian Curriculum F-10 and the Australian Curriculum frameworks. Students demonstrate and reflect on knowledge and appreciation of contemporary social, environmental, economic and cultural issues and of their roles as Humanities and citizenship educators within a complex and changing environment.
