Subject outline
This subject provides a thorough understanding of feeds, feed processing, legislative and regulatory aspects of the industry to provide optimal, progressive, nutritional management of horses. The science of individual feeds is investigated and applied. Through a series of practicals and projects, students will develop their skills and understanding in the assessemnt of traditional and non-traditional equine feeds, feed processing technologies, the regulatory and legislative requirements for equine rations and the formualtion of a range of rations for different applications.
