2017
Credit points: 15
Subject outline
This subject has been developed to allow students from the College of Science, Health and Engineering (SHE) to extend their formal academic learning beyond the classroom. It aims to provide students across various course disciplines with an opportunity to synthesize their learning in a vocational subject. Students complete 100-140 hours of work placement as part of this subject. Placements are self-sourced by students. This subject addresses La Trobe's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Essential. Innovation and Entrepreneurship entails developing the ability to tackle problems creatively, generating new ideas, taking calculated risks and creating change to achieve ambitions now and in the future. Specifically, this subject provides students with opportunities to creatively apply and adapt their skills to a real-world environment and network with employers. It brings together the expertise of industry partners and La Trobe University staff for the benefit of the student's professional development.
