Subject outline
POL3PCW aims to equip students to work with and for organisations that have a strong interest in the (international) political and economic arenas (government, business, IGOs, NGOs etc). The subject coordinator will oversee the student's design of projects and the selection of workplaces. The selection and development of these projects is guided by a careful consideration of the educational and learning outcomes of each project and the significance it has for developing the student's career aspirations. Students are challenged to reflect on their careers and to independently search out placements that extend their interests and experience. Each project is designed to develop practical employability skills in a professional setting (such as applied research, networking, program management etc). The placement experience is highly tailored so that students gain directly from their investment in their career development. Placements are organised the semester before they are undertaken so students are asked to enrol in PCW at the start of the year. Semester 1 enrolment is by approval only, please contact the subject coordinator.

Prerequisites Enrolment in ABIR and completion of any two of the following core subjects (POL2DPS, POL2IOL, POL2TWP) or enrolment in LBPPE and completion of ECO2MFG and PHI2MMW and POL2PID and ECO2CFC or enrolment in LWLINT and completion of LAW2CTA and LAW2TOT and LAW2CTB and LAW2CSL and POL2DPS and POL2TWP and POL2IOL.

One 150.0 hours placement - off site per study period on weekdays during the day from week 10 to week 22 and delivered via blended.
