In this subject, students undertake a comprehensive examination of the basic principles of podiatric management of cutaneous (skin) pathologies, integrating knowledge acquired in first and second year anatomy and physiology studies with podiatric practices. Clinical cases and virtual clinical experiences are used to develop their understanding of dermatological conditions commonly encountered in podiatric practice. Students also develop a range of clinical skills relevant to the cases examined, including sharp debridement and pressure relief techniques, by completing a program of skills classes.
