Subject outline

Students taking the subject would normally be experienced counselling and psychotherapy practitioners enrolled in the D Clin Science (Counselling and Psychotherapy). Students are expected to conduct a critical analysis of their own theoretical development. The challenge in this subject is twofold: to understand the links between personal experiences and how these have impacted on preferred theoretical models; and to understand the extent to which these preferences conform to or stand in tension with research-based evidence on outcomes in counselling and psychotherapy.
