Subject outline
The purpose of this subject is to introduce students to the skills involved in planning and conducting a research project. In this subject students develop more advanced knowledge about a range of quantitative and qualitative research approaches directly applicable to research and evaluation in the health sciences as preparation for an honours thesis. Students are introduced to the research cycle and ways to approach a health research problem. This includes: appraising the research literature; developing research questions; determining appropriate study designs and data collection methods; justifying approaches to data collection, analysis and interpretation.
