Subject outline

In this subject students examine the effects of psychosocial, social, cultural and attitudinal factors on individual responses to developmental and health transitions and identify conditions which encourage independent functioning and the maintenance of health. Topics addressed include gender and health, work and health, life-course transitions, and culturally diverse communities. Particular attention is paid to implications for practising health promotion and rehabilitation.
