Subject outline

In this subject students will be provided with a strong foundation in the principles, methods and application of communication skills required in a variety of healthcare settings. Students will be able to identify and differentiate between a range of counselling and communication skills, and will be able to successfully apply the appropriate skills to a number of simulated cases. The subject will provide an introduction to communication requirements specific to healthcare, and it is expected that students will integrate these skills in the classroom and during concurrent and future industry placements.
