Subject outline
In this subject, students will elect a career pathway through this subject that will provide a particular focus on research, education, management or advanced clinical practice. Students who undertake the Research Career Pathway must have completed NSM5RFN. Although the focus for each student through this subject will vary slightly, all students will develop cognitive and technical skills that demonstrate a broad understanding of a body of knowledge and advanced understanding of underlying principles and theoretical concepts in some areas of a particular focus in specialty practice. The subject is delivered via a flexible online mode comprising learning modules via LMS. A limited number of on-campus workshops (or equivalent online virtual classrooms) and/or clinical practicum days may be offered dependent on the specialty focus.

Prerequisites: If the student is enrolled in HMN or HMND then must have passed NSM4FPB and passed one of NSM4FAC, NSM4FCF, NSM4FBC, NSM4FCP, NSM4FCA, NSM4FCC, NSM4FEC, NSM4FIC, NSM4NCF, NSM4FPA, NSM4FPO, NSM4FRC, NSM4FSC, NSM4UCF or NSM4FWA. Student must be enrolled in HMMID - Master of Midwifery.
