Subject outline
This subject examines software licensing agreements and confidentiality agreements. The licenses considered include consumer licenses and commercial licenses between a software owner, distributors and resellers. Confidentiality agreements will be considered both for employment situations and in the context of stand-alone non-disclosure agreements. Students will be examined on their ability to identify commercial issues, draft appropriate licenses, and protect a client#s confidential information.

- Activities:
- Lectures and concept presentations aimed at developing an understanding of the key cases and materials that underpin this area of the law. Students are required to use new language in discussion and written settings. An assignment will require identification and analysis of key concepts requiring reading and analysis of primary and secondary legal materials. Examination questions will also assess this knowledge and the capacity to apply this knowledge.
