Subject outline

This subject provides students with an introduction to the lives and significance of a selection of subversive and controversial women from Italian myth, literature and history. The primary material examined will include written and visual texts; secondary readings will provide the necessary background on the social, historical and cultural context. All texts will be available in English translation and all assessment will be in English.
