In this subject, the key aspects of the Australian Curriculum as these relate to the Middle Years of Schooling (Years 5-9) are addressed. Students focus on the structure, content and strategies for learning and teaching young people who are at a stage of schooling where they build breadth and depth. Students develop an understanding of the content and approaches in teaching within and across each of the disciplines. Interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary perspectives provide a context to allow students to explore pedagogical strategies to enhance both students' learning and well-being during this stage of schooling. Cross curriculum capabilities of literacy, numeracy and ICT are also addressed.

- Activities:
- students engage with learning materials in online modules and respond to reflective questions associated with content
02. Students explore pedagogical strategies and issues of motivation and engagement associated with working with young adolescents in disciplines and trans-disciplinary contexts in the middle years of schooling
- Activities:
- students observe and record experiences of working with students in MY classes during TEB. Students respond by recording observations in a portfolio. Students reflect on issues of motivation and engagement in a structured essay.
