Subject outline
In this subject students focus on their development as English language and literacy teachers. Students will develop a theoretical and practical knowledge of early years and primary curriculum programs, teaching approaches and assessment practices. A core focus will be on interpreting and creating text with a specific focus on reading, writing, and development of oral language, plus visual and critical literacy.This will include models of multimodal literacy; innovative and critical pedagogies; structured teaching approaches, and an understanding of the developmental nature of language and literacy learning in a global cultural context.
