Activities:
Introduce the general requirements for ePayment; Teach various payment mechanisems such as smart cards, credit cards (SET protocol), eWallates (autentication), eCash (blind signitures), micropayment and EFT; Organise class discussions on some of the unsolved reaserch problems in the area.
Related graduate capabilities and elements:
Critical Thinking(Critical Thinking)
Creative Problem-solving(Creative Problem-solving)
Discipline-specific GCs(Discipline-specific GCs)

02. Apply knowledge on Semantic Web to design a framework for information representation, extraction and reasoning.

Activities:
Teach definitions of the Semantic Web, the Layered structure and current research frameworks on semantics, ontology, logic and security (including RDF, OWL and OOWIS); Organise class discussions on some of the unsolved reaserch problems in the area.
Related graduate capabilities and elements:
Critical Thinking(Critical Thinking)
Creative Problem-solving(Creative Problem-solving)
Discipline-specific GCs(Discipline-specific GCs)

03. Be able to analyse and evaluate a current system and to propose possible improvement.

Activities:
The assignment of the subject is to write a research report on a related topic. After the assignment is handed out to the class, detailed steps (literature survey, analysis, experiments, research formalisation and report writing etc) are discussed in the lecture. Students are supplied with the initial survey paper to start, a pre-defined structure to follow, and are required to follow the procudure to complete the assignment.
