In this subject, students in the China Health Program cover topics including: information systems; basic concepts of information in health including structure, environment, networking, media, language, data collection, storage, access, analysis and retrieval; characteristics of effective health information systems, IT strategies, requirements specification and system development and evaluation for health system applications; sources of information for health professionals; administrative policies and procedures for health service organisations; types of health information systems. This subject is taught in Mandarin and English.
