Subject outline

This subject provides the key concepts, theories and practical applications associated with the preparation you will need to enter postgraduate studies at La Trobe University. This subject will assist you in developing your English language skills for university assessment tasks and professional business communication. You will be provided with the knowledge and an understanding of the expectations around developing the skills required to read, write and communicate verbally according to the demands required for post graduate study. The Business English component is based on the La Trobe Melbourne L6 EFS program which prepares students for Post Graduate entry into courses at La Trobe University.Specifically the English component covers: discussion skills, paraphrasing skills, research essay practice, critical thinking skills. literature review referencing skills and formal writing.
