Subject outline

In this subject, students will extend their knowledge and skills relating to physiotherapy assessment and management in the practice areas of paediatrics, women's health and continence. The paediatrics module will cover the theoretical background for assessing and managing children with posture and movement disorders. The women's health module will introduce the aetiology, pathology, clinical features and complications, pertaining to conditions specific to women, that are amenable to physiotherapy care. The continence module will introduce the assessment and management of continence problems occurring in women and men, with the emphasis on incontinence resulting from pelvic floor muscle weakness.
