Media Industries explores how digital technologies are impacting on the media industries -analysing the implications for media and cultural policy and the regulatory framework, and how media institutions and practitioners are adapting to the various challenges arising from digital convergence.

Prerequisites: 30 credit points of 2nd year subjects from either Strategic Communication, Media Studies, Journalism or Media:Screen + Sound or coordinator's approval.

Special conditions: This subject is a third year compulsory subject in the ABMS, ABSC, ABSCB and Bachelor of Science (Application in Society) and is an elective subject in ABCA. This subject is also a compulsory subject in the Bachelor of Arts major in Strategic Communication (Bundoora & Bendigo campuses).
