Advanced Topics in Medical Science B (MED3ATB) is a third year unit that consists of current topics in biomedical science including basic pharmacology concepts, neuromuscular and central nervous system disorders and aging. We will look in depth at neuromuscular physiology and how perturbations in various physiological aspects result in neuromuscular disorders. Additionally we will examine mechanisms of brain injury and disease and our current understanding of the biological processes involved in aging and their impact on health and disease.

03. Summarise knowledge of disease-related topics with application to a specific 'case' supported by evidence obtained from primary information sources.
- Activities:
- Case Study sessions are used for guided examination and group discussion of the case in light of current knowledge. Students then research the topic further and write a fully referenced report on the assigned case topic.
