Subject outline

This subject will cover the basic aspects of commercial and economic arbitration in the context of transnational and international transactions and operations. The course begins with an analysis of the legal nature of commercial arbitration as an alternative to judicial adjudication and deals with the unique characteristics of international arbitration. The framework of multilateral arbitration treaties and the arbitration rules of national and international arbitration institutions are studied together with national arbitration statutes and the most prominent model laws.
