Subject outline
This subject provides students with an in-country immersion experience by studying at a partner institution in France. The subject is taught in-country in intensive mode and designed to provide students with a systematic revision and consolidation of the essential structures of French. In class students will study grammar, syntax and vocabulary in practical communicative situations. We also stress the productive aspect of language use in context, while extending grammatical and lexical knowledge and refining oral skills by means of regular small-group activities. Listening skills are also developed by use of authentic documents including interviews, songs and film. The subject should also enable students to obtain an A2 and B2 level in the Common European Framework depending on the stream in which they are enrolled.
