The teaching practicum B is the second of 3 practicum placements and consists of 20 days of supervised teaching undertaken in the school setting. Over the total period for the three teaching practica of 60 days, a minimum of 45 days should be undertaken in a secondary school setting. For Prac 2 (twenty days): Students take 2 (two) pre-planned lessons per day in their method areas; and undertake a minimum of 20 lesson observations. Supervision is undertaken in the school by the Head of Department or a delegated supervisor who is a trained teacher. La Trobe University supervision is undertaken at intervals as arranged throughout the practicum.
