This subject introduces students to the developmental nature of language and literacy beyond the early years and develops understanding of the tensions surrounding the assessment of literacy. Students develop a practical knowledge of curriculum programs and assessment practices for each level of schooling (early primary, middle years) including: innovations in language and literacy pedagogy e.g. multiliteracies.
